Pachhunga Hmar
Pachhunga Hmar, a rich businessman known as ‘Mizo Hausapa’ (The Rich Mizo Man), was the first president of the Mizo Union. He and first General Secretary H.K Bawihchhuaka, both from the Hmar tribe, took an active part in the Mizo Union Movement in the erstwhile ‘Lushai Hills’ (Khiangte et al., 2022; Tuolor 2023). Pachhunga University College in Mizoram was named after him after he funded its initial management.
