1959 Hmar Cultural Troupe: India’s Republic Day in New Delhi
The Hmar tribe had various opportunities to showcase their rich traditional dances during national events in New Delhi since Independence. One such occasion was during India’s Republic Day in 1959. The group from North Cachar Hills was led by Pu Thienga Nampui and Pu Lalvuona Hmar.
